Gary Gary

Gary

Starting out in 1990, Gary has worked at some of the world’s leading post production companies and production agencies. His first role was a runner then he graduated as a colourist at Framestore, Rushes and Smoke & Mirrors

Two years after joining Gary was appointed as MD of Smoke & Mirrors and oversaw a rapid global expansion from 2 to 9 offices by 2015, becoming CEO in the process and abandoning his colour duties for a life of spreadsheets and meetings.

After joining the board of Tag in 2017 Gary lead all of Tag’s production operations globally, securing new business and creating new service lines for clients such as Heineken, Unilever, Toyota, Amazon, Meta, Lego and Tesco.

Looking back, Gary says “I fell in love with advertising when I first saw Levi’s 'Bath' ad. I couldn’t believe anyone would make something look so beautiful when they clearly didn’t have to - why not just drop the price of jeans and tell people? I got a job as a runner straight away and I’ve been trying to follow that principle ever since.”

Claim to fame: I know someone who knows Andrew Ridgely

Proudest Achievement: When my sister got sent home from school with a bleeding ear because she’d been Tango’d and I had worked on the ad.
